Three of the worlds major music labels decided against DRM: EMI, Universal and Sony, while Wal-Mart plans to stop selling DRM protected songs in their online store.
I don’t know what was up with this hype of DRM, but I’m glad that it’s over soon.

It’s official now: The first activation crack for Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 is out.
It is floating around in P2P networks, you can also find it on The Pirate Bay but be aware of fake torrents. Another demonstration of Microsoft’s bullet proof anti-piracy techniques. The only question that bothers me is: When is the next crack coming out?

According to this news report hosted on YouTube - The Pirate Bay Headquarters is in Anti-Piracy Building (opens in new window, starting at 1:23), The Pirate Bay has chosen their headquarter to be at the building of “Antipiratbyrån”, the Swedish anti-piracy organization initiated by the FBI and MPAA.

TrueCrypt v5.0 has now been finally released after a few delays. You can find it here: TrueCrypt v5.0 - Free Open-Source Disk Encryption Software.
It features a Macintosh OS X version, a graphical user interface for Linux and Windows system partition encryption.

I did it again - messed with the X11 configuration and gnome was gone. Not such a big problem I thought - I backed up my /home directory and reinstalled Ubuntu.
After reinstalling Ubuntu I was going to set up the screen resolution to 1920×1200 which was the native resolution of my Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP. I need to log out? OK, done that. Back to my desktop; the screen resolution remained unchanged!
