Easy Copy n’ Paste on Linux

Linux penguin.Copy n’ Pasting is easy on Windows. On Linux, I believed, it was a mess - I missed the way you could do it on Windows. Or at least that’s what I’ve thought for a long time.

I found out that Copy n’ Pasting was much easier than I thought. I believed you had to press shift+home to copy and shift+ins to paste. In some help files I read you could press the third mouse button to paste. Third mouse button? That would be great, if my mouse would actually have a third mouse button :(

Today, when I worked a lot with consoles I noticed that sometimes it would paste some text which I haven’t even copied.

The solution…

Linux is acting like it got 2 clipboards. One is the actual Copy n’ Paste that you know from Windows. The other, a more comfortable solution requires you to select text and simply press the first+second mouse button at once. Try it, it works, and it’s much more comfortable than Windows’ ctrl+c/ctrl+v.

I wish someone told me this a long time ago, right after I switched to Linux.
